Wood Sculpture

Wood Sculpture, 2016 – May 7th, 10am to 4.30pm.  A one-day workshop at the Stables making small sculptures from wood & natural materials found in Cromarty.  Environmental artist, Leon Patchett will demonstrate and guide participants through some basic techniques to assemble their own piece of art.  All are welcome.  “If you can use a small cordless drill you can take part.”  £50.  Bring a packed lunch.

Leon Patchett is an environmental artist working at the Stables in Cromarty. He is a graduate of Central / St Martins College of Art & Design where he completed a B.A.Hons Degree in Ceramics in 1990.  He has been a practicing artist for the past decade and now works out in Cromarty, a small peninsular town north of Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland.  This beautiful and dramatic region of Scotland has inspired a new direction in his work.  A simple walk on the beach presented a readily available free material to begin a new approach in the studio.

The workshop will take place in a relaxed atmosphere at The Stables Studios on Cromarty.
We will make small sculptures from wood & natural materials found in the local environment. I will demonstrate & guide you through some basic techniques to assemble your own piece of art.  All are welcome. If you can use a small cordless drill you can join in.

Part of The Cromarty Arts Trust programme of visual arts workshops you can make advanced bookings on 01381 600354 or email info@cromartyartstrust.org.uk. £50 for the day (tea & coffee provided).
