Stained Glass Workshop with Anne Ferguson

Glass workshop weekend.

These workshops are suitable for beginners  - no experience necessary.
They are all separate sessions and participants can opt for more than one if they wish. For example it would be possible to create a small piece of fused glass in one of the Day One sessions, which could then be incorporated into a leaded panel on Day Two.

Day One- an introduction to kiln fired glass - using small kilns fired in a microwave oven, you can create fused pieces for jewellery or sun catchers .
There will be two half day sessions - 10- 12.30 and 2 - 4.30
All Materials will be provided.

Day Two - an introduction to Leaded Stained Glass.  9.30 - 4.30.
In this session you will learn all the techniques required to create a small panel of leaded glass and produce a finished piece of work.
All materials will be provided .

Anne Ferguson is a graduate of The Glasgow School of Art where she subsequently taught in Textile department for over 20 years.
Since leaving GSA in 2003, Anne has worked on many school and community projects in a range of media, including drawing, textiles, mosaic and glass.
Her own work is mainly in glass, with a focus on colour and pattern, and she exhibits annually at The Pittenweem Arts Festival and Cowal Open  Studios.  Her work can be seen at The Old Waiting Room Gallery in Colonsay where she runs glass and textiles workshops during the Spring and Autumn Festivals.
Anne also exhibits and conducts stained glass workshops in Orkney, and worked with Morag Tweedie on two design consultancies in Lesotho in 2013/14.
