In this one day workshop led by fibre artist Sophie Hale, we will focus on how we can combine natural fibres with beautiful botanicals. This course is running on a Friday, so just in time for Cromarty Open Gardens weekend!
Over the morning you will learn how to make your own Summer Floral wreath using Shetland Wool rovings and British grown dried flowers to create a beautiful floral wreath for your home. During this session you will learn about the properties of wool as a fibre, how to create a special stitch that will make the base of your wreath. You’re also learn how to wire dried flowers to decorate your wreath with.
After lunch you will learn about the wonderful art of flower pounding, where you will get to use fresh flowers and learn the art of pounding them into silk and cotton fabrics.
Both these sessions are perfect for complete beginners.
