From the shimmering waters of Debussy’s Ondine and the haunting majesty of La Cathédrale Engloutie, to the rarely heard poetic miniatures of Stanchinsky, the programme journeys through some of the most evocative music of the late Romantic and Impressionist eras.

Mussorgsky’s thrilling Night on Bald Mountain brings dark folklore vividly to life, while works by Liadov and Liszt showcase exquisite colour and expressive depth. The recital culminates in Rachmaninov’s monumental Piano Sonata No. 2, a work of breathtaking virtuosity, passion and power.

Named a Rising Star by BBC Music Magazine, Nikita Lukinov has rapidly established himself as one of the most exciting young pianists performing today. His playing combines technical brilliance with emotional depth and musical spontaneity, earning praise for performances that are both intellectually engaging and deeply moving.

Based in Scotland, Nikita has appeared at some of the world’s leading concert venues and festivals including Wigmore Hall, the Southbank Centre, Usher Hall, Palau de la Música Catalana and the Verbier Festival. His performances have also been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Scala Radio.

A prize winner at the Málaga International Piano Competition, Nikita began his musical training in Russia before continuing his studies at The Purcell School and later at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Alongside his growing international concert career, Nikita is also recognised as an inspiring educator and is currently the youngest senior teaching staff member at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
