Winter Wednesdays & Northern Lights

When: Wednesday, February 1st 2023, Start Time: 14:00, End Time: 16:00

Where: The Old Brewery Burnside Place, Cromarty IV11 8XQ

Part of:
Writing Workshops

The Old Brewery is open to anyone of all ages on Wednesday afternoons throughout the winter months (check calendar for dates).  There will be free tea, coffee and biscuits available all afternoon, with space to chat, bring a craft project or play games. Visiting poet and writer Caroline Burrows (VerseCycle) is back again this week for an optional poetry workshop about the Northern Lights.  Cromarty author Donald Mackenzie wrote The Nimble Men in 1909 about the Northern Lights and Caroline will examine his poem and we'll have a go at writing our own poems inspired by these beautiful lights. Caroline recently wrote about the Aurora Borealis for the BBC Sky at Night. This stunning picture was taken by Cromarty resident Nora Watson.
