Riots in Fishertown!

Find out how early 20th century Cromarty writer Donald Alexander Mackenzie caused a riot in Fishertown. His newspaper article offended the residents of fishertown so much they rioted in the streets.

With poet in residence Caroline Burrows, you'll take a look at what he wrote about Fishertown, the Northern Lights and more. You'll also visit his grave at the Gaelic Chapel burial ground (weather and legs permitting). Then you'll have a go at writing a poem on behalf of the Fishertown folk in response to his rude and inflammatory comments.

Free event, but let us know if you are coming along, email info@cromartyartstrust.org.uk or call 01381 600354

Tea and coffee provided, bring a packed lunch. Thank you Nora Watson for the photograph.
