Art and Design Teachers’ Highland Gathering

An opportunity for Teachers and Edinburgh Art College staff to enjoy a meaningful, informative and enjoyable day of learning, interaction and mutual exchange, in the beautiful and inspiring setting of the Cromarty Stables.

Saturday November 21st from 10am – 5pm

Tutors from Edinburgh College of Art: Joan Smith (Programme Leader BA Combined Studies) and Oliver Reed

Morning Sessions
Exploring the question:
' What do we mean by research?'

· Developing a reflective practice.

Practical Workshop on 'Art, Themes and Research'

· Looking at ways of developing ideas through
drawing and experimentation (using mono-printing and drawing).


Afternoon Sessions

Memory Box workshop

· Teachers are asked to bring objects,
photographs, and other bits and pieces which could be used in the boxes.

Day Ends at 5pm


Cost of the day is £80 per person which includes morning and afternoon refreshments, lunch, dinner and materials. Accommodation can be provided at the Old Brewery in Cromarty at a cost of £25 Bed and Breakfast.
