Tales and Music from Highland Perthshire

When: Sunday, June 23rd 2013, Start Time: 16:00, End Time: 18:00

Local musicians Bob Pegg, Christina Stewart and Bill Taylor present Tales and Music from Highland Perthshire at the Stables on Sunday afternoon 23rd June 2013. The programme combines Perthshire stories
with songs in Gaelic and Scots/English, and tunes played on the ancient wire-strung clarsach. The production centres around stories collected by Lady Evelyn Stewart Murray (1868-1940) at Blair Castle,
which were taken from local informants and preserved in twelve manuscript volumes using their unique dialect and usage of native Perthshire Gaelic. Bob, Christina and Bill will present Lady Evelyn’s tales as they might have been heard at a traditional ceilidh, with a mix of stories, songs and music.

Tickets cost £10, £8 and £3
