Singing in Harmony

Come and join our celebration of the arrival of summer with a day of harmony singing.  Suitable for anyone who loves to sing in a welcoming environment - no previous experience needed. With exercises to warm up the voice, body and develop your own sound, then learn songs from around the world in rounds, call & response and harmony. Prepare yourself to smile, laugh and make some beautiful music with like minded people!

Tutor Jessica Bates is returning for another workshop in Cromarty. She is a graduate from Newcastle University in Folk & Traditional Music. In Newcastle she led a number of community choirs all of which were unaccompanied harmony singing. She has also worked on a research project into benefits of singing in a community environment. Jessica now lives in Inverness and as well as running several choirs she works as a teacher and performer.
