Join local singing teacher and voice specialist Kate O'Connell for a fun uplifting day, opening up your natural voice and singing inspiring acappella harmony songs. All learning is by ear, no previous experience needed AND the day will suit all levels of expertise.
Kate has been leading choirs and offering voice workshops around Scotland for 40 years. At present she is creator and director of Black Isle Acappella in Rosemarkie, Sing for Parkinsons in Inverness, Sing for Peace and The Wee Choir in Forres. She works with the healing power of singing and pays particular attention to physical relaxation, posture, deep breathing and the power of harmony. She encourages participants to open up their natural voice.
Says Kate, "For this day I have chosen short pieces with beautiful harmonies which enable us to learn them quickly and then spend our time sinking into the harmonies, opening up our voices and blending with the group. If you think you can't sing but would like to give it a go, this group is for you…and if you know you can sing and want to wallow in it, this is also for you! Singing together is so good for our health and wellbeing, as we bring energy into our body, deepen our breathing, lift our spirits and connect with other people. There is much research to show that singing boosts the immune system and calms anxiety."
Healing Harmonies: “Kate, this group is just amazing. I love the way you lead us from your heart, bringing all your own joy and curiosity and wonder at this process of organic music."
Libby Workshop: “Kate opens people's hearts and draws the music out.”
