Inverness to Cromarty is a 40 minute car journey. B+Bs available nearby if required The residential workshops include: Free entry to the tutors concert on Thursday evening. 2 1/2 days of intensive teaching including group song work, technique, bodywork and 4 masterclasses with each tutor (max 5 students in each masterclass) with a good deal of individual focus time. Singers' Night Jam Session on Saturday evening, accompanied by Liane, Brian, Sophie or Sara. Student concert on Sunday afternoon accompanied by Brian Kellock. You'll use movement, song, rhyme and a selection of drums and percussion in this fun and noisy rhythm play session especially designed for toddlers and led by experienced workshop leader and percussionist, Carol Scorer. A fun workshop to explore rhythms and instruments from Brazil and Cuba with percussionist, Carol Scorer. Instruments can be provided and no previous experience necessary - all abilities welcome. Come and join our celebration of the arrival of summer with a day of harmony singing. Suitable for anyone who loves to sing in a welcoming environment - no previous experience needed. With exercises to warm up the voice, body and develop your own sound, then learn songs from around the world in rounds, call & response and harmony. Prepare yourself to smile, laugh and make some beautiful music with like minded people! Tutor Jessica Bates is returning for another workshop in Cromarty. She is a graduate from Newcastle University in Folk & Traditional Music. In Newcastle she led a number of community choirs all of which were unaccompanied harmony singing. She has also worked on a research project into benefits of singing in a community environment. Singing together is great for individual health and wellbeing as well as building community. A fun day to open up your voice and sing some inspirational acappella harmony songs, under the tuition of Kate O'Connell. The chosen songs are relatively simple so that we can learn them and then relax and enjoy the experience of singing together, listening to each other’s harmonies. Suits all levels of experience. Learning is by ear. The day includes vocal exercises to increase power, range, quality, and confidence of voice as well as playing with harmony and learning some beautiful songs. £35 Tea/coffee provided.
